Our Team
Meet the volunteers, leaders, trainers, and team members who give their time, experience, and heart to carrying the Old Glory mission forward.
One Mission. Many Roles.
Old Glory is a volunteer-driven organization built by people who believe in the mission and are willing to step into the roles needed to support it. Many members of our team contribute in more than one capacity, combining leadership, training, member support, outreach, and other responsibilities.
Whether helping guide the organization, working directly with service dog teams, supporting members, or strengthening our connection with the community, each role contributes to the same purpose: helping Old Glory serve its members and carry the mission forward.
Board of Directors
Old Glory's Board of Directors provides leadership, oversight, and guidance to help protect the mission and support the continued growth of the organization.
The People Behind the Training
Old Glory's trainers bring hands-on experience, continued education, and a shared commitment to helping members build strong, dependable partnerships with their service dogs.
Ilana Fountain
Ilana Fountain serves as Lead Trainer for Old Glory Service Dogs and is an AKC Evaluator. Like many dedicated trainers, her journey into dog training began with a simple goal: she wanted her own dog to be well trained.
What began as working toward that goal developed into years of learning and hands-on experience. As Ilana and her dog progressed together, she continued developing her knowledge of training and obedience techniques and eventually chose to formalize and expand her skills as a trainer.
Ilana remains committed to continuing education and regularly seeks opportunities to strengthen her training and evaluation skills. She has attended the Association of Service Dog Providers Conference for four years and recently spent a week learning alongside the team at Semper K9.
Lauren Driscoll
Lauren Driscoll's path into dog training began with her own dog, Seamus. Working through his behavioral challenges showed her firsthand how structured training could transform both a dog's behavior and the relationship between dog and handler.
That experience led Lauren to pursue formal education in dog training, completing a 12-month trainer program followed by an additional 15 months of advanced training focused on working with dogs presenting more difficult behavioral challenges.
Lauren remains committed to continuing education and regularly attends instructional seminars to strengthen and expand her skills. She has attended the Association of Service Dog Providers Conference for five years and continues seeking advanced training opportunities that can strengthen Old Glory's program.
She is currently working toward attending Method K9's trainer course as part of that continued professional development.
Lynette Murphy
Lynette Murphy has volunteered with Old Glory Service Dogs since early 2023, contributing to both the training program and the organization’s mental health and member-support efforts.
Before joining Old Glory, Lynette worked as a licensed master social worker in New York, serving within the New York State high school system and the Suffolk County Probation Department. That experience gives her a strong foundation for connecting with members, understanding individual challenges, and providing thoughtful support when needed.
Along with serving on the training staff, Lynette acts as a mental health advisor to Old Glory and has become a trusted source of encouragement and guidance for many members. She has also attended the Association of Service Dog Providers Conference as part of her continued learning and involvement in the service dog community.
Stephen Watkins
Stephen Watkins brings both personal experience and a member-focused perspective to Old Glory Service Dogs. Having trained two of his own service dogs, he understands firsthand the commitment, patience, challenges, and rewards involved in developing a successful service dog partnership.
Stephen has continued to expand his knowledge through formal education in canine behavior and service dog training. He has earned certificates from the Animal Behavior Institute in Canine Training and Service & Therapy Dog Training and has attended the Association of Service Dog Providers Conference for four years.
His own experiences help him connect with members who may be uncertain about beginning the service dog training process. As a trainer, Stephen works to transfer what he has learned to each member while helping them develop the skills, confidence, and understanding needed to build a dependable partnership with their dog.
